whirl wind

That is my life right now...
But I LOVE IT!!  I live for adventure, doing things differently, and shooting for my dreams...

I am horrible at keeping my friends and family updated with everything going on.  I have many reasons for this but this is the just of it :-)

Husband - Yes he is in super busy mode as well ... and he loves it too!  He is so amazing...  and I am so lucky to have him.  He keeps me on my toes though.  Tonight he is playing basketball... so I decided to take a few minutes to blog... HOORAY!!  I swear tho he is what keeps me in line with everything I have going on... the days when I need encouragement he gives it, the days where I need to be brought into reality... he brings me.  He is my perfect balance... Thank goodness because lately I need a lot of balancing!!

Larkyn - She is in dance and is learning and growing up so fast right now.  It is amazing how much she has gone from the baby stage to being a little girl.  Actually tonight she wrote some gibberish on a sticky  note and handed it to Logan and told him to text it to me.  Ha!  Who does that?  It made my  night tho!  She is my goob!  Love her more than she will ever know.  So I am thinking about putting her in swim lessons this summer?  She will be 3... is this too young?  Do I wait another year?  Any good places?  She tells me she wants to go to school all the time... and she is obsessed with buses!  Anytime she sees a bus she has to tell me all of the colors.  The other day she saw a UTA bus and was so confused.  She asked about the kids and where they were going... I had to explain the difference to her... But I am not sure if she got it.  Eh.. it was a funny conversation and that is all that matters.

(In case everyone wonders why I blog Oaklee first... its because she was my baby A so I just go in order... weird huh)

Oaklee - this little girl is going to be the one who makes me go gray.  She is so rambunctious and into everything!  She does things impulsively too!  She is not shy at all!  She makes me laugh... she will tell you a million baby stories all day.  She likes to tickle or tackle Carea... it's quite comical too.  Her big smile melts my heart... She has such a pure laugh too.  She is crawling and standing up next to anything that she can pull herself up on.  I feel like she is going to be walking soon.  She gets afraid when tossed into the air, but she loves to be upside down....

Carea - Mommy's little girl.  I am glad I got one because Larkyn and Oaklee are both daddy's girls.  Carea is my pure hearted baby.  She is a deep thinker too!  It is so funny to watch her watch people or things to figure it out.  You can see the wheels spinning.  She isn't crawling but her methods of travel include scooting on her bum or her belly.  Her and Oaklee are extreme opposites.  Carea loves to be tossed into the air and gets super tense when upside down.  So weird!  Even their toes, noses, hands.... it's all different.  I think they both have a good mixture of Logan and I... Just opposite eachother.  Carea has attitude lately... especially when she is eating...  she will spit her food at me and just laugh... I try not to laugh so I don't encourage her... she is just too darn cute to be mad at.  Anyone who knows me knows I can't keep a serious face.

Me - What do you want to know?  I get asked a million questions about everything.  I am a working wife, mommy, friend... There are days I feel like I do too much... But like I said before I love it!  This is the stuff that gives me my drive in life.  If I don't have a million projects I am bored.  That is so weird right?  I don't know how to relax.  I need some clones that can process my thoughts and just go go go :)

So I went to LA for my business and that was an adventure that I will have to share another day.  It will be A GREAT first chapter in my book haha!  It was unbelievable how things fell into place... but they did.  I am still doing a lot on the business side of things... I need to make sure I have everything perfect so I get it right.  I did choose a name "Sapphire Mango Clothing Company" thanks to a neighbor who submitted it for the competition I held.  I got some great contacts there and feel like the events that happened are going to push me into the right direction.  One thing that I have really had to remember is that I am not the one in control here.  There is a plan... and it will fall into place.  Questions?  Just ask.  If I trust you enough I will let you in... :-)

Good news on temple pics I have done.  I am going to be giving the digital files away for free.. YES FREE!  You can print where ever you like!  I know I charged a few people last summer... and I am sorry... but You still got an amazing deal.  I hope there aren't any bad feelings over this.  BUT I am giving them to the church as well to use however they would like so I figured I would just give them to anyone who asks.  Just shoot me an email or call me... It might take me a few days to get them to you but I will do it!  As I travel I will continue to take pics of the temples for the Church and I will keep those images updated as well.  Tell your friends and family too!  It is so important for everyone to have some sort of temple pic in their home... even if its not where you were sealed.

Each day is wild for me right now.  I get up around 5 am every day and stay up til 11 or later most nights.  I love that I have such a wonderful husband who is so supportive and with me to the end on this journey.  My house is a wreck most days and I don't care!  Come on over and see for yourself.  Sometimes I am embarrassed but other times I am not.  We are humans and we live in our home.  haha!  I love my calling at church.  I am the visiting teaching supervisor so I kind of get to work with the sisters in our ward again.  It is great for my schedule too!

I know this post was random... but that is my brain these days... just random.  I just want everyone to know  how much I appreciate all the love, support, and words of encouragement I get from you... it really means a lot.

And to those who want to crush my dreams... I say "suck it"  - no really but if you don't have anything nice to say... don't say anything at all.  Thanks Thumper!

Healthy update ...

I have had so many people asking me about the diet that my Dr. has me on so I figure I will give everyone a quick update.

In case you missed it I am on the Paleo or Leptin Diet.
I was put on this diet for health concerns and to achieve over all health.
There are so many recipes out there for this.. just google it (I google everything haha)

First weekend I lost 6 lbs and felt a huge difference regarding my energy and just how my body felt.  I think in the last post I wrote about how I am very aware of my body.  Anyway...

As of today (2.5 weeks after starting) I am down 16 lbs.  I know that doesn't seem healthy but I eat... a lot!  I have even treated myself to a lot of dark chocolate and chilis chips and salsa (ssshhh don't tell).  I honestly just think my body had so many toxins stored up that it is just working like crazy to get rid of all of it.

Now... I know a lot of people ask me if this has been an easy adjustment and I will tell you that for the most part it has.  The first few days I did great!  I felt great and didn't really have cravings... well going into the first week and a half and this week it has been harder.  I knew this challenge would come but I have such a sweet tooth so for me it is inevitable haha!  There have been days (like today) where I have felt weak and maybe I just didn't get enough calories or something but really I think what it has to do with is my body is still making huge adjustments!  Days like today I tend to eat more dark chocolate and I tend to want to eat carbs.  I know these feelings and cravings will go away after a couple more weeks... So if you do decide to try it... STAY STRONG!  YOU WILL SEE RESULTS AND FEEL SO MUCH BETTER!

Other noticeable changes:

I feel happier as a human.  I have always been happy but lately I don't seem to get as stressed and if something is bothering me it takes a lot for my patience to wear.

My hair seems thicker and growing fast!  (like it could get any thicker... right??)

My skin isn't nearly as dry as it has been and my lips have started producing natural moisture... I don't use nearly as much chapstick.

I don't seem to sweat as much.  TMI right?  well I am a sweaty gal and lately this problem has been reduced... SIGNIFICANTLY :)

I am sure there have been many more changes but my mind is off tonight.

If you have any questions let me know... I am happy to help answer any!!

help me... if you dare :)

I am looking for some women who want to share their opinion regarding their bodies, clothing, color and confidence.

If you could either leave a comment answering the following or shoot me an email haylielynphoto@hotmail.com I would appreciate it!

1 – Where do you struggle regarding clothing: confidence, color choice, layering, shopping or just suck at picking an outfit out period!?

2 – Are you afraid to mix colors or are you afraid to branch out into the color world?

3 – Would you ever consider having a consultant help you with wardrobe styling based on your body type and skin tones?

4 – Do you know your body type?  Are you in denial?

5 – Would you hate someone for giving their honest opinion?

6 – What do you expect to get out of your clothing choices?

7 – Do you like lose or fitted clothing?

8 – Do you lack confidence all around?

9 – Do you like accessories?  Do you know how to wear accessories based on your body type?

10 - Are you reserved?  Or willing to branch out and try new styles and layering techniques?

HAHA! Thanks for all of your input!  I am super excited to see what your responses are!

a new day...

I try not to blog about too many of my problems... where's the fun in that right??

This time its different... a little bad but nothing terrible... MOSTLY GREAT tho!

So since I had my girls I haven't quite felt like myself... It's hard to explain exactly how I have been feeling but I just knew something was off.  I am very aware of my body.

Here is what life has been like...
tired a lot, brittle hair, anxiety, restless nights, sometimes my heart would hurt, I couldn't lose weight no matter what I tried, and several other little things.  Everyone would just tell me its because I'm a mom, I try to do too much, I have twins, and my age... No it was more than that.  I could tell something needed to change.

So after months and months of trying to become healthy and failing I decided to see a Dr.  I honestly thought my thyroid was out of wack or something.  Reading online (which isn't always the best :) I had all the symptoms for hypothyroidism.  I am not one that likes to just go to the Dr.  So keep that in mind.  I appreciate modern day medicine for a lot of things, but I often feel like too many Dr's just push prescriptions instead of finding a solution.

Well at my initial appointment we went over how I have been feeling.  How discouraged I was getting.  He decided to draw some blood and run several tests.

I went back this last Friday to go over my results.
Thyroid fine... Great news!
Vitamin D low (like most Utahns), bad cholesterol high, good cholesterol low, and sugars way too high... my pancreas was working way too hard.

So he decided to put me on a pretty strict diet.  I wanted to scream!!  Really a diet?!?

But after he started explaining everything to me it made sense!  Holy shmokes!!

I needed to reset my fat thermostat!  Catchy right?!?

So I started his plan Friday... 3 days ago at lunch time.  Since then I have lost over 6 lbs and I am starting to feel better than ever!!   I have more energy!  I feel happier!! I can already feel my body getting rid of all the toxins.  My heart doesn't beat like its going to explode... my anxiety has come down... It really is working!!  For me it's not just about losing weight... it's about feeling and being healthier.  BUT hey if you want to lose a few extra lbs this will work for you :)

It's amazing how food affects everything in our bodies.  It can throw all of our hormones off which will throw everything else off.  Even if one thing is off the slightest bit it will affect us.

So you are probably wondering what the secret is...  And I will share!  Keep in mind that everyone's body is different and our needs are different as well.

A lot of what I am eating follows the Paleo Diet.  I had never heard of this until Friday.  BUT my Dr did change a few things for me because of my needs.  Honestly before starting a diet you really should consult with your Dr.  Anyway... you can look up Paleo diet.  If you  need help I will gladly sit down with you and go over all of it or you can call my Dr. and he will do the same for you.  One of the things that I was impressed with is that he didn't just try to prescribe things to "fix" me... he really sat down and evaluated my body's needs.  Oh and the whole grain thing... well for me right now I'm not eating any.  I go back in 3 months and we will evaluate everything again.  Eventually I will be able to bring grains back into my life... but I will not overdue it

Oh and something interesting is that my whole egg incident a month ago was most likely because of grains.  So he challenged me to eat eggs again.  I think it will be a while before I do that... I am scared to get that pain again. BUT when I do it will be interesting to see what happens.

Here is what I eat.
A LOT of meat and veggies.  Low sugars so only 1 or 2 pieces of fruit each day.  NO Grains, NO sweets.  Well I have been treating myself to dark chocolate at the end of each day to kind of reward myself.  Plus dark chocolate is safe to eat!  :)

There are some simple things to do as well.  Like taking 10 deep breaths every hour and a few others.

It's all about our bodies being too stressed because of what we eat and our every day stresses contributing.

If you want more specific details let me know.  I don't really have the time to blog about every little thing...

BUT it really is a new day!

1.19.2012

snow day... well sort of

Larkyn and I decided to go shovel some walks today...  (do I totally sound like a Utahn?? haha!)

It turned into a mini session of her!  AND she loved every minute of the picture taking!!  It's been a while since I took and edited some pictures of my own child... it was sooo fun!   I think I'll do this more often :)

So a little bit about Larkyn...
She loves water!  To play in it that is!!  Anytime she sees a puddle she has to jump in it to make a splash.  Well today was perfect for that since the snow was so wet and is melting super fast!

Enjoy!!
